On Sunday the 25th of May at 8pm myself and 7 others will start the drive from London to Scotland. When we get there we will set the clock and start the Three Peaks Challenge. We will be climbing the highest mountains in the British isles, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon... all within 24 hours.
In the 24 hours we will go from Scotland to England to Wales and walk over 26 Miles (44 km). I am realllly excited to do this but also pretty scared. I spend most of my days sat at a desk, and my walking boots havent seen any action for years. So I am relying on a few practice hikes, my stubborness and chocolate every few miles to get me through. I really struggle when I'm tired and therefore apologise to my comrades in advance.
But I'm not just doing this for the blisters. I want to raise money for a brilliant charity called XLP, they work in 7 boroughs across London and want to see the lives of young people transformed for the better. The charity have been part of my life for the past 4 years, I did a gap year with XLP after college, which is where I met Matt ;) Today we work very closely with their projects in the borough of Newham.
They are a really relevant charity who get into the heart of the issues young people face in the inner city. Im not sure I've done them justice so please click here to find out more about XLP.
If you would like to sponsor me and give to this cause you can do 3 things:
1. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/xlpthreepeaks
2. Text PEAK78 £5 to 70070 (£5 can be replaced with £1,2,10)
3. Speak to me in person
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

ReplyDeleteThanks! Its gonna be an experience for sure x
DeleteWhat a great thing to do! Is all the driving included in the 24 hours? Good luck! x
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie, the driving between the mountains is, but from London to Scotland and Wales to London isnt. That would be really tough and possibly break a few speed limits! xx
DeleteWow! I am so excited to hear how it goes! It looks like it will be an amazing adventure.
